Can you connect to the database using TCP using the exact same hostname
as specified in the JDBC url. eg

   psql -h your-host-name -U ccm ccm

The installation procedure of RHL 9 may well have setup a firewall on
your machine, so for example connecting to postgresql via 127.0.0.1
could work, while using the public IP addr might not.

If you want to eliminate the firewall as a potential problem run

   service iptables stop
