It looks like a bug related to Plasma. On a fresh installed Fedora KDE 
Plasma 44 inside GNOME Boxes, the F45 wallpaper with embedded Display P3 
colour profile runs fine as expected before update. The issue showing a 
grey background occurred after update to Plasma 6.7. A possible theory 
is the regression on Plasma support of embedded colour profile in JXL.

jxlinfo showed "Color space: RGB, D65, P3 primaries, sRGB transfer 
function, rendering intent: Perceptual"

Fedora Workstation is unaffected to the issue.
