I have not tried it yet on an Itanium 1, but the version of whitebox
linux at http://gelato.uiuc.edu/projects/whitebox/ is supposed to have a
kernel patch that allows it to be used on both Itanium 1 and Itanium 2
processors. This was done by Robert Kidd, he started out with witebox,
which is in turn compiled from the RedHat Enterprise source rpms.
