Thank you everyone. I have managed to get my root partition resized without any ill affects and now have a windows partition, but I need to know what the name of my cdrom drive would be for the grub.conf file so I can boot to the windows CDROM for the install. The drive is the secondary master drive (hdc). If anyone could tell me what to put in grub.conf for both windows regular boot and the cdrom, I would be much indebted. Following is the partition table for my hard drive: Disk /dev/hda: 255 heads, 63 sectors, 9732 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/hda1 * 1 6 48163+ 83 Linux /dev/hda2 7 7649 61392397+ 83 Linux /dev/hda3 9603 9732 1044225 82 Linux swap /dev/hda4 7650 9602 15687472+ c Win95 FAT32 (LBA) Partition table entries are not in disk order Thanks!
