RE: Dual Boot

Well first you have to install windows.  If you install windows after
Linux then the boot record will be wiped out!
Next you boot the cd with your bios not grub.conf

Here is how to do it and it works:
1 Make the first 100M of your drive the /boot and an ID of 83.
2 Make the second partition as large as you want your windows partition.
ID depends on what windows you are installing.
3 Make the third partition your swap and its size should be twice you
have for memory in your machine ID=82.
4 make the last partition the rest of the disk ID=83.
5 Install windows.
6 Install Linux.

If grub does not find the windows (grub will call it a dos system) then
add the commands you need after
Linux is installed and running.

I have managed to get my root partition resized without any ill affects
and now have a windows partition, but I need to know what the name of my
cdrom drive would be for the grub.conf file so I can boot to the windows
CDROM for the install. The drive is the secondary master drive (hdc). 
If anyone could tell me what to put in grub.conf for both windows
regular boot and the cdrom, I would be much indebted.  Following is the
partition table for my hard drive:

Disk /dev/hda: 255 heads, 63 sectors, 9732 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 bytes

   Device Boot    Start       End    Blocks   Id  System
/dev/hda1   *         1         6     48163+  83  Linux

Partition table entries are not in disk order
