Questions to ask yourself:

What features of Exchange do you use?
What client will your users be using?
Are either of the above flexible?


You can piece together a solution with Linux that does everything except
for the shared calendar.  There isn't an free solution that bundles it
all together.  There is also a few commercial packages that might give
you a good start.
