hi ,
You means that I can not use LVS clustering if real server + LVS router
in the same box.
another question:
in Redhat advanced server Documents about LVS clustering, every
LVS router need 2 NICs, one for public and the other for private(to real
server).
for example, I have 155.181.187.23(this is for public NIC)
Can I just configure public NIC as 155.181.187.23 and real server IP
addr(using Piranha-gui tool) as 155.181.187.23(same IP)? Can this be done?
if that, I say I can configure LVS router and real server in the same
box(and backup one is configured in the same manner).

thanks
jy

As far as I know, you'll need at least three boxes - 1 (or preferably 2)
for LVS, behind which sit your two Apache boxes...

You could of course load balance just 2 Apache boxes by using
round-robin DNS or similar...but you won't have the failover that LVS
provides.

Cheers

hi ,
   thanks for your quick answer.
Because I have only 2 redhat Linux boxes. and I used LVS clustering
for
these 2 boxes. Hope load balancing.
And, I will install apache in each box and proxy all requests to
weblogic
servers.

thanks

Umm...your desired config sounds a little strange - why would you want
each server to be an LVS router *and* a realserver ? What's LVS going to
route to ?

hi all,
I want to cluster 2 machines using redhat advanced
server2.1
(LVS Clustering). and I want to configure 1 LVS Router with 1 real
server
in 1 machine and the other backup router and real server in the other
machine. Can any one give me some suggestion? Because there is no
documents
available talking about such configuration.
thanks
jy
