Damned ! I remember I had this problem, but can't recall exactly by what
it was caused (a missing or invalid arg passed to lvs, but which one).

Edit utils.c and uncomment the call to piranha_log in execArgs, rebuild
and run again. You'll find some relevant info in the log and send them
to the list.

If this doesn't work, use strace to find out the final system call that
makes lvs to crash (the output might be quite long).
