I note that you say you can use RH8.0 in your doc. I was misinformed in that I was under the impression this was only available under Advanced Server. So we are running ASDEV 2.1 which has the 2.4.9-e.5enterprise #1 SMP kernel. We are running Compaq servers with quad Xeons, and Raid drives. We are expecting a lot of throughput especially from the database servers. What make AS better than 8.0? What have they added to AS that makes it worth 1400-2300 over RH 8/9 at 149? I want to do this job for the least amount of money but not affect throughput. What are your thoughts on this? Do I need the AS for the quad server and gigabytes of memory? Is it tweaked to handle that even though it is a lower kernel version? Just want to do this right.
