Router failover

Hello!
I'm using piranha for setting up LVS-NAT cluster. I've noticed that
after active router fails, backup router becomes active but if
former active router starts working again, they're using the same ip
addresses, i.e. backup router doesn't notice that active recovered
from failure. Is it supposed to work this way? I also want to run some
scripts when router failover occurs. Is it possible?
Thanks in advance,
Eugene
