First of all, you've been on the list for a while. I think the html and
unwrapped lines are unnecessary, okay?

There are always going to be some clods who post BS answers. This was one
of them. I thought he was responding to someone with a name line
"hong-wei" or something until I read some of the replies. In any event,
the guy proved he can be a jerk. Let it ride and carry on.

You posted a windoh$ question recently. In my mind, that was out of line.

The other questions you posted all seemed to be valid IMHO. Ask till ya
puke, those are good for all of us. That's how we stay sharp on the
day-to-day stuff.

The type of discussion you see regarding this issue is normal for *nux
lists, for some reason. I think it might be associated with the fact that
there are Uber-geeks mixed in with wanna-be's who have too much time on
their hands.

Go to ESR.org and look for a little diatribe on posting good questions to
a mailing list. ESR (Eric Raymond) is regarded by many as the consumate
spokesperson for linux related matters. Read some of his stuff (The
Cathedral and the Bazar is a well-known and often referred to piece of
open source philosophy) and follow it as it applies to you. And if you
want to make some brownie points with some of the others on the lists (it
doesn't hurt) quote ESR...

Cheers,
Keith
