Hi

I'm a bit of a newbie, and I'm having problems setting the line speed
and duplex settings on a Dell PowerEdge 4600 with an onboard Broadcomm
1Gbps NIC. The NIC is set to autonegotiate, bit I want to force it to
100Mb Full Duplex, and I'm not sure how.

I have tried passing some parameters in modules.conf, and mii-tool
doesn't work with this nic.

The system is Red Hat Advanced Server 2.1 with all current updates.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

James Butler

Modify you /etc/module to look something like:

alias eth0 bcm5700
options bcm5700 line_speed=100 auto_speed=0 full_duplex=1

Also do a man on bcm5700, it will give you all kinds of information.
