disabling rpc.statd???

Hello,

Need Help!!!!!

I want to disable rpc.statd process on my machine how do i fo it?
I have stopped nfs do i need to stop anything else ?
I can kill the process by kill -9 but that will be a temporary solution. How
do i disable this service permenantly?

The reason being ==> http://www.cert.org/advisories/CA-2000-17.html

Anyhelp would be appreciated!!!
