Re: Redhat freezes after setting hostname

I fear running fsck will not help you, as I fear your hard drive has 
died. That's a guess though.

You can run e2fsck though. It works on ext3 file systems also (ext3 is 
basically ext2 with journalling added). That's why you don't find e3fsck.
fsck is basically a frontend for the different fsck tools.
