1. How can I force KDE _not_ to display the drive icons (cdrom,
cdrom1, floppy) automatically on startup (even though I always delete
the shortcuts from the desktop, they appear once again after
restarting the system)?
------
2. When I turn the computer off ('shutdown -h now'), it stops all
services as it should and displays a "Power down." message in the end.
I hear a "crack" from the workstation (which is OK and occurs also
when I e.g. close Windows), but the power _isn't_ actually down as the
screen still displays information. When I press the POWER button, the
computer shuts down and it is considered a clean unmount. However, I
want the system to close the computer _entirely_. I've got:
<M> Advanced Power Management BIOS support
[*] Allow interrupts during APM BIOS calls
[*] Use real mode APM BIOS calls to power off
What can I do?
------
3. When I want to switch from KDE to the second terminal
(Ctrl+Alt+F2), sometimes everything goes well, but sometimes the
screen just turns black and I can't do anything - the only solution is
to press the RESTART button on the workstation. I've got:
[*] Support for frame buffer devices
[*] VESA VGA graphics console
<M> VGA 16-color graphics console
[*] Advanced low level driver options
<*> Monochrome....32 bpp packed pixels support
<M> VGA 16-color planar support
<M> VGA characters/attributes support
I'd be grateful for any advice as it drives me mad when the system has
to check filesystem integrity almost every time I want to restart it
(this happens when KDE shuts down - when I run the console emulator
under KDE and execute 'shutdown -r now' or similar, the same thing
happens).
------
Sorry if I've got the wrong address (however, I _am_ using Enigma :)
