I agree.  The 8.0 kit is missing 'gnorpm' as the first, and most obvious, to me.
It is different enough that I too will wait for an 8.1 or at least an 8.0x.

7.3 has posed very few problems.

I would go for 7.3 instead of 8.0. Or at least wait some time before you jump the 8.0 bandwagon. 7.3 seems rock stable.
