RE: enabling ELF, command not found

Ah, yes.  Apparently it is.  However, I have an ELF binary which reports
a "command-not-found" error when we try to run it.  Examination of the
binary reveals strings "libm.so.5" and "libld-linux.so.1".  I don't have
either in /usr/lib.  Does their mention in the executable imply that
they are needed at runtime, and if so, where would one get them?

The "command not found" error also suggests to me a possible scenario
such as a system(<command>); statement somewhere within the program, and
perhaps it is that command which is not found.  Unfortunately, I do not
have the source code, so I expect that standard debuggers would not help
me to determine what command is not found.  Is there a way to find out
WHAT command is not found?  (sometimes I've run into a similar error
when a script starts with something like #!/bin/sh or #!/bin/ksh and
that file doesn't exist on the system.)

Could the version of linux be relevant?  and if so, is there a way I
could tell from the binary what version it needs to run on?

Isn't ELF the native format for Linux binaries?
