Ah yes, you must upgrade the kernel to use IPTables. On the other hand, if
you upgrade the 7.0 kernel to the 2.2.22-7.0.2 kernel in the official 7.0
updates you should do OK. Search out the TrinityOS Project and grab their
firewall for a starter. It is well documented and rather large. As a
system administrator you should be concerned about security. And the
TrinityOS
Project site is a good resource.
