Ok I was slightly wrong. w2k is more screwey then one can expect. You
set the gateway by clicking the option use default gateway on remote
machine. So in a sense the server is supplying a gateway. But when
you do netstat -r on the w2k client it reports the default gateway to
be the ip number of the w2k machine which is crazy. But anyway the
connection works. In fact the gateway of the client is the ip of the
server. I can't see how it could work any other way and that is the
way it works in linux as the client.
