RE: XWindows and GNOME

Joel,
This is the email list for Redhat 7.0. "guinness-list".
Are you upgrading to 8 from 7?  I'm thinking of doing that.  
You have to be able to choose upgrade somehow.  My 7.0 disk says install
Workstation, Serverstation or Custom system.  Under that it says
Upgrade.  I went to the RedHat web site and it shows upgrade existing
when installing 8.0 too.  
It says upgrade will preserve your existing linux settings.  What could
possibly go wrong?

When I did that I rebooted from the CD and selected "upgrade" and it
didn't show any software - so I selected install, and then it asked me
to repartition the OS... (So i would have to do a complete reinstall or
better figure out how the installation program works..., which I 
couldn't).

It appears that reinstall may be the only option - I am installing RH8.0
