Well, after four days, my virtual memory is nearly exhausted. For some reason, X is now consuming 200MB, and gnome-terminal, 136MB. Woof. up, up, up. I'll have to crtl-alt-backspace before I run out of swap. 8:08pm up 4 days, 23:40, 3 users, load average: 0.08, 0.22, 0.23 118 processes: 113 sleeping, 4 running, 1 zombie, 0 stopped CPU states: 9.0% user, 4.8% system, 0.0% nice, 86.1% idle Mem: 255392K av, 251932K used, 3460K free, 0K shrd, 4616K buff Swap: 522104K av, 423224K used, 98880K free 82892K cached PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND 10788 rothwell 15 0 40052 38M 16400 S 5.2 15.2 7:26 mozilla-bin 2645 root 0 -19 200M 27M 9980 S < 2.5 10.8 55:44 X 2809 rothwell 15 0 31000 19M 8172 S 0.1 7.8 3:19 evolution-mail 2896 rothwell 15 0 136M 10M 4964 R 0.7 4.0 10:17 gnome-terminal 2745 rothwell 15 0 11440 9700 6380 S 0.5 3.7 50:35 gnome-panel 2748 rothwell 15 0 12524 8440 6292 S 0.0 3.3 1:21 nautilus 11836 rothwell 15 0 50516 8076 5588 S 0.0 3.1 0:17 psi 2771 rothwell 15 0 7596 6824 4392 S 0.0 2.6 4:48 evolution 2791 rothwell 15 0 6924 6216 5324 S 0.0 2.4 0:03 evolution-addre 862 xfs 16 0 15732 6020 1596 S 0.0 2.3 1:00 xfs 2767 rothwell 15 0 6672 5452 4748 S 0.0 2.1 0:06 mini_commander_ 2803 rothwell 15 0 7168 5336 4372 S 0.0 2.0 0:52 evolution-execu 2732 rothwell 15 0 5932 5248 4380 S 0.0 2.0 2:46 metacity 2769 rothwell 15 0 6360 5228 4656 S 0.0 2.0 0:06 mixer_applet2 2757 rothwell 15 0 5488 4748 4280 S 0.5 1.8 26:36 multiload-apple 2655 rothwell 15 0 6408 4464 4284 S 0.0 1.7 0:06 gnome-session On Fri, 2002-09-13 at 06:30, Felipe Alfaro Solana wrote: > I think I've found a bug in "gnome-terminal" or "vte", that causes memory > leaks over time.
