I'll try it again with a newer (than what's available from up2date) vte,
but when I tried it, my system ate all of its RAM (256MB) and 512MB of
swap and churned, churned, churned to the point that it was basically
unusable. (Increasing it further to something like 15000 or 18000 just
caused instant segfaults if I remember correctly.)
