This gets to the fundamental issue of 0/1, true/false. I'm certain there is a 
name for the concept, but I can't recall it at the moment: In the binary 
world, who decided that 0=false and 1=true? It could just as easily be the 
other way and the world would work the same, just the perspective would be 
different.

And so it has evolved in perceiving the GUI. This is why neither side is right 
or wrong. Your individual perception of what's right for you will likely 
differ from what I perceive as right for me.

That's why there will never be a "universal" GUI because their will never be a 
universal perception. A truly well-designed GUI would offer the choice of 
0=true or 1=true and allow me to select what is "right" for me, but look at 
what a can of worms that opens. 8)
