I suppose you read (with great care) every ad that pops up in front of you, then? Some dialogs are useful, while other messages (or UI issues) are not; regardless, all should be consistent. One thing that pisses the #$@# out of me is the six or seven combinations of hotkeys I need to press to get my current app to close. Ctrl-Q? Alt-W? Ctrl-W? Ctrl-D? Etc, etc. I (like most others here) spend about 12-14 hours a day in front of a computer. I don't want to waste time trying to find out how to close my current app so I can go on and do other work; I just want it to close and be done with it. So why spend time writing you? I think of it as an investment. If I can convince one other person around here that UI consistency is a Good Thing (tm), then I can save time down the road by fighting less with seemingly-random apps. :) Toodles. -jdm Department of Computer Science, Duke University, Durham, NC 27708-0129 Email: [email protected]
