Sendmail not sending mail (again)

On two Null box I'm having trouble sending messages with the same
symptoms as below. Is this a bug in the sendmail or is there something
wrong with the configuration? Default configuration on Valhalla just
worked.

Since it was trying to connect to relay:
	localhost.my-domain
I've tried changing the /etc/mail/sendmail.cf to specify my domain and
hostname since it isn't determining the correct hostname.

My expectation is that after reinstalling the sendmail rpms (to get new
config files), I would expect sendmail to run off and connect to the
remote SMTP server.

A quick search of bugzilla didn't return any sendmail bugs.

The original thread didn't generate an answer for the problem, Sendmail
IS running.

I can get around this easy enough, by installing an older version of
sendmail.

Possibly I need to configure something with the newer version, but I
never needed to for the older versions (I've run older versions of
RedHat on different machines).
Is this a bug, or am I doing (or not doing) something wrong?
