I don't know why I think my $0.02 is really more important than
everyone else's since this topic has been beat to death, but...

I think Red Hat would be better served to focus on one desktop environment. I
prefer the way GNOME looks. If I wanted KDE, I would be using a different
distribution (Suse, Mandrake, etc.) that focused on KDE. Red Hat clearly shows
favoritism to GNOME. Maybe this is why I'm not in charge (I have no affiliation
w/ Red Hat), but I would have ditched KDE, long ago. That's at least 151M of
iso space saved (only kde-*) and much more time not having to mess w/ packing
it.

It would be interesting to see a vote after 8.0 is released of who likes what.
Such as new icons, menu layout, big thick bar and whether they prefer GNOME or
KDE (only Red Hat users).

I think my desktop opinion is pretty worthless since I currently have one panel
aligned panel in the left corner w/ a menu button, mozilla launcher, terminal
launcher, and email launcher, gnome stock ticker and clock w/ a plain black
desktop background. At the end of the day, I'm using the applications and I
just want the desktop to stay the hell out of my way.

sorry,

jason
