I don't think that it was so much that, as one DVD looks more valuable to
the European market.  There really wasn't that much interest in DVDs here
in the States until recently, as the price of DVD drives started dropping
and more things started requiring DVD drives (just check out the large
majority of DVD movies which are coming out now with special DVD-ROM
additions on them.)  Even given the fact that you could have one DVD or 5
CDs, many folks in the States would still take the CDs, as they didn't want
to invest in the DVD drive.

My point was basically that I didn't think there was a legal or technical
reason for not producing a DVD in the States to this point.  Now, if we
wanted to make a movie about the inner-workings of Red Hat, publish it on a
DVD and allow our illustrous linux users to view it . . . now we have a
legal problem :-)
