X -Windows problem (xauth)

Hi, Jason.

J have some trouble ?
When I logged in as "root" I get error messages ? 

"   Last login: Wed Mar 19 12:40:14 2003 from tt1.tt.com
    /usr/X11R6/bin/xauth:  error in locking authority file /root/.Xauthority
    X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication.
    X connection to localhost:10.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).
    root@tt:~>

If I try starting X ("startx") I get this error  messages:

 "  xauth:  error in locking authority file /root/.Xauthority
    xauth:  error in locking authority file /root/.Xauthority
    xauth:  error in locking authority file /root/.Xauthority
    xauth:  error in locking authority file /root/.Xauthority
"

How I can solve the given problem ?
