were you logged in as root or a user??? If you were logged in as a user, log in as root, recreate the file, and give your userID permissions to the file. If you were logged in as root you may have problems.

Hi. I am running Red Hat 7.3 and I just deleted my /etc/profile and can no longer log in. I was editing it, saved it, but Kate saved a zero byte file instead of what I saw on the screen. What can I do to recover?

	Thanks,
