Hi, I have a machine, which is reporting 4 cpus. It is 2 AMD processors, and 2 cores in each processor. The 4 cores are not reporting the same bogomips ? Should they. To explain. test_HOME> grep AMD /proc/cpuinfo vendor_id : AuthenticAMD model name : Dual Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 265 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD model name : Dual Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 265 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD model name : Dual Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 265 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD model name : Dual Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 265 test_HOME> grep bogo /proc/cpuinfo bogomips : 3578.26 bogomips : 3578.26 bogomips : 3578.26 bogomips : 6710.88 note how the last core is reporting the higher figure. As LSF seems to take the highest figure and append to this to create an architecture, a similar box can report as different architectures under LSF. We can tweak LSF so they will by classed as the same, but why, and should 1 core is reporting a higher figure are the questions. ( LSF is the application we are using to manage jobs to this box ). The version of linux running is; test_HOME> cat /etc/redhat-release Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS release 3 (Taroon Update 8) test_HOME> uname -a Linux test 2.4.21-47.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Jul 5 20:30:30 EDT 2006 x86_64 x86_64 x86 _64 GNU/Linux Any pointers are appreciated.
