Hi, I live out in the woods in central Sweden. I have an early version of RH 6.2 which has a lot of problems, most of which have probably been fixd, but my real problem is that I have to drive 20 km to the library, to access the web. The library network does not allow downloads, after discovering some kids were building porn files, so the netmaster blocked downloads. The 'phone company (Telia) has been promising (1984)improved analogue 'phone service, (1989) ISDN, (1991) ADSL and now, it is in bad trouble, near bankruptcy, and I still have an below-standard analogue line, which is unable to support my 56K analogue modem. They no longer promise any improvement date. It could be ten years. They want to do ADSL starting at the big cities, so it could be decades or more before they get out to the sticks where I live. What to do? It's lovely out here: birds, deer, moose, even bears, and a garden full of fruit trees. Should I buy the new RH 7.? for $49.50 plus 25% tax? Will I then be better off, considering I still can't get on the web at home? Or what would you suggest? This is so depressing. I really hate Microsoft.
