When you say that it is unable to support your 56K modem, do you mean 
that you get a slow connection, or you get no connection at all? 
Personally, I believe that a slow connection may be better than no 
connection at all.

It is hard to say if you would be better off with RH 7.x.  Actually, 8.0 
has been out for 3 months, and 8.1 beta just came out.

What problems are you having with 6.2?  What hardware are you running it 
on (CPU, RAM, HD, etc.)?  What are you using it for?
