RE: Is RHN down now?

To be fair, I am not venting--I am inquiring about a service that my company pays for and is currently not performing.  I had scheduled maintenance that is now delayed as a result of this issue.  I will open the appropriate ticket rather than burden the list any further--my goal here was to gain consensus before I open the ticket with RH.

I agree with the satellite argument, but to take 45 minutes to update one AS4 box is incredible... My connection is not saturated at all... Something up the stream is the lag

Obamanation? I thought it was the Obamageddon? 

As for when / how etc etc. The point of the matter is RH should be able to keep up with Business demand since they are providing a business subscription service. 

#1 recently RHN has been very spotty
#2 Few months ago we had RHN downtime due to "infiltrated servers"
#3 having a local satalitte / mrepo server shouldn't even come up in the discussion, as it should be a reliable service (although I do agree that you should have a staging server locally).
