using http instead of ftp for txfr?

Hi there,
I've been using grab for a couple of months now, and I like it a lot.  My
one outstanding wish for it, though, is to handle http transfers instead of
ftp.  Specifically, the distro.ibiblio.org archives seem to be getting more
and more clogged w/ ftp users, while still providing very nice throughput
for me on http.  I vote for a feature to allow servers to be specified using
http in addition to ftp (obviously, this would only work with certainly
formatted html presentation of directories, but I think it's fairly standard
by now; I'd just be happy w/ grab understanding the apache presentation of
directories).
