Sorry for the late responce... GRAB can run automatically via cron and anacron. The easiest way to get GRAB to run automatically is to run 'grab --mkcron'. This will tell GRAB to write a cron script for you and depending on how often you want GRAB to run, it will write it in different locations (i.e. /etc/cron.[daily|weekly|monthly]/). GRAB used to have a daemon option that will fork GRAB, and run it in the background and come to life at the defined time, but I don't think that anyone ever used it. Why would you when cron is already running and managing scheduled processes across the OS? Because your system is not always running cron may miss the scheduled time, which is why there is also anacron. Anacron is similar to cron, but looks to see if the process has run within the time stated, and if not, runs it. Anacron also looks in the /etc/cron.* directories as does cron. Do a 'man anacron' for more info.
