yep. we've got a 1.5TB FTP/apt/grab server running off one of their
12-channel controllers. 1.5TB for less than $5000. :)

they tell me that the nVidia drivers *do* let you get hardware 3D
accelleration while running Xinerama tho. something that plain X can't do
yet.
also the driver is smart enough to recognize when something is plugged into
the second head, and automatically resize your desktop to stretch it across
both heads.
It's also by far the fastest 3D accellerator under Linux.

so however hasslesome it may be, it does have a place.... just not a place
on any of my machines. :)

not easier; simpler. there's a difference. :)
fewer start menu options; fewer icons; fewer applications for users to
confuse themselves with; no way for the users to change things and make the
admin's life harder. :)

OSX is like Gnome and KDE... lots of gimmicks and eye-candy for the home
user or the self-admin. you can lock it down somewhat; but I posit that it's
easier to lock down a linux box. :)

most office workers need a word processor, a mail client, a web browser, and
sometimes a spreadsheet. all that can be easily done on linux now.
(including running real MS Word and Excel, using Crossover Office).
