I wouldn't mind upgrading to RPM 4.0.4; but that would require an upgrade to python 2, and I don't want to hassle/risk that. > > why does grab go back to the chooser after installing the file? this is a > > big change in behavior between grab-1.x and grab-2.x. is there an option to > > disable this, which I haven't found? > > This is a new /feature/ of 2.4. This was me trying to make GRAB easier to use. well, when I tried --sysupdate on my RH7.2 box (while pointing to a RH7.3 repository), and updated only a few packages; it then spewed a list of *all* (or nearly all.. 990+ of them) the available packages, plus a few hundred more all over again. sorry that's not very clear. I'm not sure exactly what it was doing, myself. will write more when I have time to figure it out a bit more. Carl Soderstrom. -- Systems Administrator Real-Time Enterprises www.real-time.com
