full duplex?

Greets all...

my sound started working in general with the second-last kernel update from 
up2date, but, today I tried out GnomeMeeting and apparently "full duplex" 
isn't working... I tried going in to Sound Setup, but that just detects the 
card and plays a test sound... it doesn't seem to have facilities for "full 
duplex" testing.. what should I look at to try to fix this (aka, get full 
duplex working)

Reminder that I have one of the trident ali cards (I'm hoping that the card 
isn't messed up such that full duplex isn't possible)
