If you really want to check out a cool distro, check out gentoo on
sparc. it will work with the E250, I believe. The whole system is
compiled from scratch and it runs great as as server, if you stick with
the releases.

I have not tried to run it on an E250, so I cannot speak more then that.
I have run it on two servers and on my desktop (all Intel).
