Don't use the gcc 2.96 compiler. The one you're using is gcc-2.96-81,
which is really really really unhappy on sparc. Use the compilers that
shipped with Red Hat Linux 6.2 or use the Aurora project + compilers and
file bugs everytime it breaks.

Even Aurora isn't building the kernels with gcc 2.96 at this time,
although this specific issue (df showing bad data) is resolved in
gcc-2.96-102+
