Hi all,
I ran into a problem when trying to install RHL 6.2 on my U10
yesterday: The system would boot from CD (original Red Hat CD) up to
the point where the penguin is shown - and then panic. The same
happened when trying Mandrake 7.1b.
It then dawned on me that I had added a PGX32/Raptor card a while ago
and just for a laugh, I switched the default mode back to the built-in
PGX24 in OBP. Bingo - I had to swap the montior cables (the system
would come up on the PGX24, then switch to the PGX32 as soon as it
reached said "penguin" - I assume framebuffer mode?) but it worked
(didn't finish the install, as I'm having trouble with a 20GB Maxtor
EIDE drive I recently acquired).
Has anybody else observed such behaviour with the PGX32? It's listed
as supported, but the installed seemingly doesn't quite know what to
do with it... :-)
Cheerio,
Thomas
