RE: How big is the SPARC/Linux community?

On the try the distro's point made by Tom, I agree and I have tried Red Hat,
SUSE and Debian, Debian(woody) was more my style for tinkering around, but I
have Red Hat(Aurora) on a Sparc10 and Debian on a Sparc5, my Ultra5 has
Solaris 8, but I was thinking of giving the new Aurora build a try there. I
currently use Red Hat exclusivly on the intel hardware, just got 8.0.

Seriously, I wager Aurora has ~200 mailing list members. Take that
number as you will.

I'm happy to be able to call myself part of the SPARC/Linux community,
the users are informed and active, and most important, they're patient.
I don't see this port dying off anytime soon.

However, the best way to keep something alive is to get involved. Pick a
distro, help it get better, bugfix, add code, help others get it
installed.
