If RHEL3 is your flag ship you might want to talk to some of your
"partners" about providing drivers/support for it. Ie Compaq.

You freeze 2.1 and throw out 3 which not everyone has full support for
yet. So in essence alot of us are in no mans land. Cant get off 2.1 to
go to 3 until a number of major players get their parts in order, and cant
do what I need to do (ie LVM etc) working in 2.1. The emulex cards dont
work 100% in RHEL3.. oh and the tg3/bcm5700 debarcle in relation to CIM
Agents in RHEL 2.1 is just plain annoying. why is it again we cant get
the correct bcm5700 driver in the kernel for AS 2.1 ? Yes i know I am
moaning about Compaq alot, but its the hardware we have standardised on.
Redhat and its "partners" make it very difficult for peopel such as myself
to "sell" your product internally. Windows2000/2003, god bless is closed
source bug ridden virus spreading code, just works for everything we need.
And for what it doesnt do, we have Solaris. I cant give Redhat away here
lately between your outragous marketing/selling scheme, and your inability
to listen to what your users need from you and your partners. Why partner
if its in name only ?

Anyhow..ignore this I am just ranting :( Its been a long frustrating week
of kernel upgrades and CIM Agent/NIC woes.

Zate
P.S. Not directed at you Arjan, just at Redhat in general.
