Hi, We have a home dir for users in a common machine and in all machine we just do a softlink to that central home dir..... Ex: ls -l /home lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 31 Feb 3 16:21 pravink -> /net/surya/export1/home/pravink/ --- where Surya is a remote home dir machine --- Every time when we try to telnet from remote host to this host,it takes hell lot of time to get logged in sometime it happens fast!! But the local users login happens fast !! I doubted that the host is taking some time to resolve the remote hosts (since we it shoulg get automounted ) names ir..........But this host is able to resolve all other machine in a n/w. 'nslookup' from this machine proves the same !! Also tried to put all hosts entry including home dir machine in file "/etc/hosts" But the problem persist :(( Is it a problem with n/w card or machine or something else ?
