While the support liability argument makes some sense, it is also very problematic for the authors who have software that is included in Taroon, but does not re-compile on Taroon. Red Hat's policy for security updates to RHELv3, once released, is presumably going to be similar to RHELv21's policy -- make the smallest change possible to fix the issue. Without the necessary build dependencies, it becomes nearly impossible to test small changes without recompiling large chunks of the distro. Possibly there could be a Taroon Black Sheep channel that wouldn't get subscribed by default which has all the subpackages which were built but are not in the supported distro release? Thanks.
