-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, I am trying to track down a problem in rpm and was asked to use gdb. So I rebuilt the rpm RPM, installed rpm and rpm-debuginfo and started gdb: gdb --symbols=/usr/lib/debug/bin/rpm.debug rpm Running rpm works fine, I get the rpm usage notes: (gdb) run Starting program: /bin/rpm [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] [New Thread -1218546256 (LWP 12384)] RPM version 4.2.1 Copyright (C) 1998-2002 - Red Hat, Inc. This program may be freely redistributed under the terms of the GNU GPL Usage: rpm [-aKfgpqV] [-aKfgpqVcdils] [-aKfgpqVcdilsaKfgpqV] ... But I get an error when trying this: (gdb) run -q gawk-3.1.1-9 Starting program: /bin/rpm -q gawk-3.1.1-9 [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] [New Thread -1218546256 (LWP 12391)] Cannot find user-level thread for LWP 12391: generic error Searching for this in Google, I found that some other people experienced similar problems, but I did not find a solution/workaround.
