supported filesystems

Although every version of RedHat I've installed has only listed ext2/3
in the installer.   Are there going to be any supported options for a
filesystem that can be resized while mounted r/w on AS3.0?   I know from
experience that reiserfs supports this - I use it all the time on my
production systems as well as my workstations.

What are the implications of using an "unsupported" filesystem with
AS/ES 3.0?  If keep my systems on reiserfs or switch to xfs, what kind
of problems can I expect from RedHat or Oracle's (the main reason to by
AS) support?

examples:
lvextend -L +256M /dev/vgroot/lv_usr
resize_reiserfs /dev/vgroot/lv_usr
--or--
extendfs /dev/vgroot/lv_usr # for JFS
--or--
xfs_growfs /dev/vgroot/lv_usr

The ext3 way:
init 1
umount /usr
lvextend -L +256M /dev/vgroot/lv_usr
resize2fs /dev/vgroot/lv_usr
mount /usr
init 3
