I'm just curious, so please don't take this the wrong way, but would it be possible to isolate the beta channels from this sort of problem by "staging" the updates such that each channel is left in a known "pullable" state (where all the rpms in the channel are consistent with each other)? Then when updates come they can be dropped into a new channel that gets swapped in to the beta channel (by moving a symlink?) when the pushed rpms are ok together.
