I'm curious if anybody out there knows what the runaround is for using unsupported Linux features (specifically reiserfs) with RedHat AS. ext3 does not support online filesystem growing - I have been using this feature on my systems for almost two years now with reiserfs. Of course, it has been of great utility and I have no intention of taking a step backwards with ext3, so I will be using one of reiserfs, jfs, or xfs, all of which support online resizing. I realize that reiserfs is available in the kernel-unsupported RPM - I will likely be using that. I also realize that 3.0 is pretty much finalized and it's too late to fix this shortcoming. The only reason we're buying Redhat is because my DBA's need to be able to call Oracle support for products running on these servers. Will that little tool Oracle has for verifying that you're running Redhat catch something like an unsupported filesystem?
