Okay, I thought it was an explicit suggestion, so I was confused.

    Adam> HorizSync 31.0-82.0
    Adam> VertRefresh 55.0-120.0

This is what I've been using for the past year or more (whenever I
bought the monitor).

I could try this...

In theory yes. But I have some RF interference I still haven't
figured out that is producing either 30Hz or 60Hz noise on the line.

At 75Hz, I get a rapid wavery image---the screen is sharp, the motion
is small amplitude, but fatiguing. When I set the monitor to 60Hz,
the fluctuations go away. I did a short test at 800x600 @ 90Hz and
didn't notice any fluctutation. The same fluctations are visible on
my wife's monitor, sitting 10 feet away. She has an iMac with the
built-in monitor, so cabling is not the cause of my problem. And I've
seen mine waver even when I pulled the UPS plug out of the wall so
everything was off the mains. In any event, I need to go at 60Hz or
90Hz to avoid the wavery image.

regards,

roland
